And now, in what follows, we will talk ˝a little˝ more about the rights, obligations and other matters relevant to the protection of your privacy and personal data! The text that follows is important and is by no means dull and dry.

We collect your personal data when it is necessary to fulfil your needs and requests, to perform services, or for the purposes of our business operations and the organisation of the Weekend Media Festival (WMF):

  • when purchasing a ticket, PEPERMINT will request that you provide certain information (personal data) such as first and last name, address, e-mail address. In the case of a ticket purchase, a contractual relationship is concluded which serves as the basis for the processing of your personal data, given the necessity of performing the contract to which you, as the customer and our visitor, are a party. We also process your data in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract,
  • at the moment you access the weekend websites, we will also collect your IP address, which is likewise considered personal data,
  • when a person registers as a user, that is, as a recipient of the newsletter or other notifications about our products and promotions. As the data controller, we will ask you to enter information about yourself (personal data) such as your e-mail address and name. The legal basis for the processing of your data is consent. Thus, a user who signs up to receive notifications about our products and promotions by entering their data on the weekend websites gives consent for the processing of their personal data. The user may withdraw consent at any time by notifying the data protection officer at their e-mail address,
  • situations in which we collect other types of data such as the date and time of access to the website, information about the hardware, software or internet browser you use, as well as the operating system of your computer, the application version and your language settings. We may collect information about clicks and your access to the weekend websites that have been shown to you,
  • when you contact our office and request our assistance or ask a question in order for us to exercise one of your rights guaranteed by the applicable regulations,
  • when you contact us via social media, we collect the data you have made available to us when submitting an inquiry or request,
  • when you wish to unilaterally terminate a concluded contract, we collect your first name, last name, personal identification number, address, account details and purchase amount, all depending on the chosen method of payment,
  • when you wish to exercise the right to a refund of the amount paid for tickets (the right of admission to the event), we process the data you provided to us when purchasing the ticket
  • when you participate in our prize competitions, we will process data depending on the type of prize competition, about which we will additionally inform you in the rules of the prize competition itself. The data that may be processed includes, for example, first name, last name, and the address for sending the prize,
  • when you complete a satisfaction survey, we process data such as your IP address,
  • when you submit any inquiry related to our offer, we will process your contact details and/or other data that you provide to us when submitting the inquiry,
  • if you wish to submit an open job application, we will process data such as your first name, last name, age, qualifications, occupation, work experience, contact telephone number and other data contained in your open application,
  • for the purposes of web analytics via Google Analytics, we use the application “_gat._anonymizelp”, through which the data subject’s IP address is shortened by Google and anonymised when the weekend websites are accessed by a data subject from an EU member state or another state within the jurisdiction of the European Economic Area.,
  • By using the My.weekend application, we collect basic identification and contact data, information about the use of the application and technical data about the device, in order to enable access to the user account, personalise content and programme, send notifications related to the event and improve the functionality of the application.
  • when photographing and recording lectures and/or short video clips or the atmosphere, we will process your photograph, movement, hair colour and the like, all on the basis of legitimate interest, and
  • when you have purchased a ticket or are on the list of our visitors or are a speaker at the Weekend Media Festival or other events organised by PEPERMINT, we will inform you about the programme, news, exhibitors and other important matters that we consider essential and that form part of the organisational process. In carrying out these activities, we will process your e-mail or other contact details, on the basis of legitimate interest or in order to fulfil the contractual obligations we have towards you under the concluded contract.

We collect the aforementioned specific categories of your personal data either on the basis of consent presented to you upon arrival at the weekend websites via a pop-up window, or on the basis of legitimate interest (for example, in cases involving cookies that are necessary for the functioning of the weekend websites), or in order to fulfil our obligations arising from the applicable regulations of the Republic of Croatia.

If the processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent must be notified to the data controller by e-mail at: data.protection@weekendmediafestival.com or dpo@presido.hr, or at the address Ulica Republike Austrije 27, 10 000 Zagreb, marked ˜for the attention of the data protection officer˝. Such withdrawal shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Please pay attention to the mandatory scope of data we request from you, because if you do not provide the requested information designated as mandatory in order to carry out the activity you requested or expected, unfortunately, you will not be permitted to take part in it; without the requested data, the activity will not be technically feasible.

Processing of personal data in the payment process

PEPERMINT enables payment for products and services by credit and debit cards, whereby certain data must be entered in order to initiate the payment process. During payment via the contracted providers of card processing and collection services, who act as data processors or independent data controllers, certain data will be shared with these partners.

The processing of personal data is necessary in order to enable the execution of the payment and the conclusion of a contract with PEPERMINT. Depending on the chosen method of payment and the service provider, data such as first name, last name, amount, account number, code or other transaction identifiers may be shared with the card company, bank or third party through which the payment is carried out. The sharing of data is carried out exclusively at the request of the user, who independently chooses the method of payment.

PEPERMINT warns customers, that is, visitors, to take care of the data stated on the card so that this data does not become available to third parties and is not misused.

So, to summarise all of the above, we mostly collect your personal data directly from you, whether to conclude a contract with us, to take an action at your request, when you engage us to perform certain services provided by us or our contractual partners, or when you complete a certain form or when you wish to receive our newsletter.

Such communication is based on our legitimate interest in ensuring the proper performance of the purchased service and the timely information of participants.

All authorised persons sign a confidentiality statement.

The data collected for the purposes stated in this Policy will be stored only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the stated purposes. In addition to all of the above, it is important to point out the following: if court, administrative or extrajudicial proceedings have been initiated, personal data may be stored until the end of such proceedings, including any period for lodging legal remedies.

PEPERMINT will not retain your personal data longer than the period for which the data is necessary in order to fulfil the purpose of its use, and for a maximum period of 3 years, except in exceptional cases where a longer data retention period is prescribed by law (for example, data related to the unilateral termination of a contract and objections will be kept for 1 year, data related to the exercise of your privacy protection rights will be kept permanently, data related to prize competitions will be kept for 5 years, data on speakers for 5 years, photographs from lectures and other events organised at the Weekend Media Festival and other events until your objection to the processing is upheld, e-mail addresses for the purpose of sending the newsletter until consent is withdrawn, while data on invoices will be kept for 11 years).

You can find out more about the data retention periods by contacting our data protection officer.

We may use your personal data in various ways, primarily in order to fulfil our legal obligations and obligations towards you, but sometimes also in order to improve your user experience on the weekend websites and for security reasons.

The purposes for which we process your data are described in this Policy. If your data is to be used for a new, additional purpose, you will be notified of this before such processing begins.

Please note that you can opt out of receiving them at any time by exercising your rights set out in this Policy. To subscribe to the newsletter, PEPERMINT collects and processes: e-mail addresses.

The newsletter contains so-called tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic element embedded in an email sent in HTML format in order to enable storage and analysis via log files.
