How do we use cookies?

weekend.hr uses cookies and similar technologies for several purposes, depending on the context or product, including:

Transfer to third countries

PEPERMINT d.o.o. uses tools and services of companies and social networks that do not operate within the European Union. We are obliged to warn you that third parties such as Google LLC may transfer your personal data to the USA, where it may become accessible to US government agencies, if the data transfer is not compliant with the mechanisms for lawful and secure transfer prescribed by the General Data Protection Regulation.

We care about protecting your data, and precisely for this reason we use various legal options for the lawful transfer of personal data in our operations, which will ensure an even higher level of protection for you.

On 10 July 2023, the European Commission adopted a new adequacy decision on the basis of which personal data may be freely transferred from the European Union to companies in the USA that participate in the Data Privacy Framework.

The adequacy decision is based on Article 45 of the General Data Protection Regulation and represents a mechanism that ensures a secure and lawful transfer of data to third countries. Companies in the USA that wish to participate in the Data Privacy Framework must undergo a self-certification process and be entered on the list of companies that have joined the Data Privacy Framework.

We will additionally inform you of all measures taken, and once the transition period has elapsed we will also amend our policies.

Which cookies are used by Google LLC and its affiliated companies?

The website also uses certain Google services (Google Analytics), on the basis of which, through cookies, Google LLC also collects certain personal data (hereinafter: Google).

When we speak of Google services, the aforementioned term is understood to mean:

• Use of "Preferences" cookies

These cookies allow Google websites to remember information that changes the way the website behaves or looks, for example your selected language or the region in which you are located. Google uses the "SID" and "HSID" cookies, which contain digitally signed and encrypted records of the user's Google Account ID and the time of the last login. The combination of these two cookies allows Google to block many types of attacks, for example attempts to steal the content of forms you have filled in on web pages.

• Use of "Processes" cookies

Process cookies help websites work and provide the services that website visitors expect, for example they help with navigating web pages or accessing secure areas of the website. Without these cookies, the website cannot function properly.

Example:

Google uses a cookie called "lbcs" that allows Google Docs to open multiple documents in a single browser. Blocking this cookie would prevent Google Docs from working properly.

• Use of "Advertising" cookies

This category of cookies helps Google make advertising more interesting to users and more valuable to publishers and advertisers. Cookies are usually used to select advertisements based on their relevance to the user, to improve reporting on campaign performance and to avoid showing the same advertisements to a particular user repeatedly.

Example:

Google uses the NID and SID cookies to customise advertisements on Google products such as Google Search. For example, Google uses these cookies to remember your most recent searches, your previous interactions with advertisers' advertisements or search results, and your visits to advertisers' websites. The latter enables the display of customised advertisements on Google.

Another cookie of the same kind is stored under the google.com domain and is called "ANID".

Google also uses DSID, FLC, AID, TAID and exchange_uid. Other Google products, for example YouTube, may also use these cookies to display more relevant advertisements.

Sometimes advertising cookies may be set on the domain of the website you have visited. In the case of advertising that Google serves across the entire web, the cookies "__gads" or "__gac" may be set on the domain of the visited website.

Unlike cookies that are set on Google's domains, Google cannot read these cookies when you are on websites where they are not set.

Their purpose is to measure interactions with advertisements on that domain and to prevent the same advertisements from being shown to users excessively.

Google also uses conversion cookies, whose main purpose is to help advertisers determine how many times people who click on their advertisement actually purchase their products.

• Use of "Session state" cookies

Websites often collect information about how users interact with the website. This may include data about which pages users visit most often and whether they receive error messages from particular pages. These "session state cookies" help Google improve its services in order to provide users with a better browsing experience.

Blocking or deleting these cookies will not render the website unusable.

weekend.hr collects, uses and manages your personal data that is also located on the Facebook page "WEEKEND MEDIA FESTIVAL HR.Weekend" and that is accessible through the use of the aforementioned page.
