01 / About the festivalLearning and working in the era of AI

A new platform that puts
knowledge and science
at the center.

Education.Weekend is Weekend Media Festival’s biggest step forward this year — a platform that puts knowledge, skills development and science at the center.

Through panels and debates we open up key questions: formal education versus the needs of the labor market, the impact of the digital environment on the mental health of young people, and the role of universities in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Croatia lags behind the EU average in the higher education of young people, nearly half of students lack basic digital skills, and fewer than 20% of adults take part in lifelong learning — Education.Weekend opens the conversation on how to change that.

“How to learn, work and grow in the era of artificial intelligence.” — Božo Skoko, Director of Education.Weekend

The topics we open up.

01

AI, digital and creative competencies

The skills the market demands in the era of artificial intelligence — and how the education system can develop them faster than before.

02

Formal education and the labor market

The gap between the diploma and the job. What is taught versus what is sought — and how to bridge the two without waiting for reform.

03

The digital environment and the mental health of young people

The impact of screens, social media and constant connectivity on generations growing up online — what we know and what we can do.

04

Universities, entrepreneurship and innovation

The role of the academic community in developing entrepreneurship and innovation — from research to market and cooperation with the economy.

05

Artificial intelligence and the knowledge economy

How AI is changing the value of knowledge, learning and work — and what it means for the education of the next decade.
