World traveler Kristijan Iličić, entrepreneur Ella Dvornik, TikToker Dario Marčac and blogger Erna Saljević know everything there is to know about influencers. Find out what some of the biggest regional influencers think about this modern marketing phenomenon at “Influencers”, the opening panel discussion at this year’s Weekend, moderated by Marijana Batinić.

Find out first-hand about the entrepreneurial climate in Croatia from the panel “Entrepreneur: State Ally Number One”. Moderator Mislav Šimatović, deputy editor-in-chief of Večernji list, leads the discussion with Hrvoje Bujas, the president of Glas poduzetnika, Mihael Furjan, president of the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP) and Stjepan Orešković, majority owner of M+Group, to find out why young people in Croatia have a negative perception of entrepreneurs.

Are all influencers celebrities? Should celebrities be willing to become influencers? Find out from local actor Goran Bogdan, one of the most famous regional celebrities, and Branimir Brkljač, a marketing veteran who still resists the pull of social media.

If you can’t do without your cell phone for an hour—let alone all day—you need to listen to this lecture by renowned German neuroscientist Manfred Spitzer. Find out what lies behind the title of his lecture “The Smartphone Epidemic: A threat to Health, Education and Society.”

Do you know all the players behind BalCannes, a regional show of the best agency projects? Davor Bruketa, creative director of Bruketa&Žinić&Gray; Damir Ciglar, general director of Imago Ogilvy; Jelena Fiškuš, creative director of Studio Sonda; and Tomo Ricov, director of the Weekend Media Festival, will give you all the anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories at “BalCannes Special: The Story So Far”, moderated by Miro Soldić from the Croatian Chamber of Economy.

You should definitely see “Story Sellers”, the first ever competition for content creators at the Weekend Media Festival. If you like The X Factor, this panel is for you. Based on an idea by Lea Stanković (Communis), creative minds from the region will present their concepts for an original television program to a three-member expert jury consisting of Srđan Dragojević (DELIRIUM FILMS), Nebojša Taraba (Second plan) and Mario Petreković (Tvornica strave, Industrija 5reković). The jury will comment and grade each concept while you—the audience—will decide the winner. The competition will be moderated by musician and host Ida Prester.

The condition for entry to the Weekend Media Festival is an EU digital COVID certificate that can be obtained by vaccinated persons, persons who have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 180 days or persons who have a recent negative test. Quick antigen tests will be available at the entrance to the premises of the old Tobacco Factory where the festival is being held.

If you come from a country that is not a member of the European Union, here is everything you need to know.
