Born in Zagreb in 1965, Vesna started her academic journey at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, earning degrees in Comparative Literature and Phonetics. Her media involvement traces back to her high school days, eventually leading to a career in journalism. In the 1980s, Vesna contributed her talents to the women’s magazine Svijet as both a journalist and editor. Her career took a significant turn in 1991 when she joined Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). Initially, she covered the tumultuous events of the time as a war reporter before transitioning into roles as an editor for the Information, Mosaic, and Entertainment programs. She ascended to the position of Editor-in-Chief of the HTV2 channel and spearheaded strategic program development projects at HRT. Presently, Vesna curates foreign TV series as an editor-selector while also imparting her extensive industry knowledge to students at the University of Dubrovnik through three television courses. She is in the final stages of her doctoral studies in Communication at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. Her doctoral dissertation delves into domestic preferences concerning television series, providing further insight into audience tastes and preferences.
