Petar Pereža has been working at Nova TV since 2004, initially as a journalist and host of the Split bureau and, from 2005, as the host of news programs. He earned a master’s degree in business economics with a focus on finance from the Faculty of Economics in Split. His journey into journalism began at the age of 16 as a freelance collaborator at Radio Dalmacija in Split. By the time he was 18, he had become an editor and news anchor. He spent nine years at Radio Dalmacija. During his studies, he, along with a group of students and professors, initiated the student magazine “Feniks,” of which he served as the editor-in-chief for three years. In 2004, he started working as a reporter for Nova TV in Split and Zagreb. He transitioned from the role of the Split bureau host to the central news program host, leading the “Dnevnik Nove TV.” Together with Marija Miholjek, he anchored the first “Dnevnik Nove TV” on October 10, 2005. Since 2006, he has been the editor of the “Večernje vijesti” (Evening News), which he continues to lead. He has been involved in various special projects for Nova TV as both a host and a reporter. “Every day, every moment in this profession carries responsibility. Journalism is lived and worked 24 hours a day, a fact well-known to all our colleagues, as well as our spouses and children. The central moment of our entire day’s work is the ‘Dnevnik Nove TV.’ Although viewers might have already read about the news during the day, they know that at 7:15 PM, they will receive an accurate, verified, thorough, detailed, comprehensive overview of the most important daily events in the country and the world, presented in a context crucial for their understanding.”
