Ognian Zlatev has more than 20 years of professional experience in the field communications, media development and management of non-governmental organizations. He founded and led the Center for Media Development in Bulgaria and was one of the founders and president of the Southeastern European Network for Media Professionalization. He was the Director of the Information Center of the Open Society Institute in Sofia, Head of the BBC Center in Bulgaria, and a journalist and Member of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian National Television. As an official of the European Union, Zlatev was the Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria from 2013 to 2019, when he assumed this position in Croatia.
