The managing director of the Croatian Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić, gained rich experience in the tourism sector from an early age. During his professional career he has worked, among other things, as assistant director of marketing and sales at Hoteli Novi, where he later became a member of the management board. Staničić was also the president of the Liburnia Riviera Hotels, president of the Crikvenica hotel company Jadran and executive director of sales and marketing, as well as president of the Bernardin Group Resorts & Hotels in Portorož, Slovenia. He graduated from the Faculty of Hotel Management in Opatija and received his master’s degree from the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Rijeka, where he is currently completing his doctoral studies. He was appointed managing director of the Croatian Tourist Board in July 2017, and in September 2020 he became vice president of the European Travel Commission (ETC).
