When the 50-year-old Roe vs. Wade ruling was overturned a few months ago by the US Supreme Court, women around the world rightly wondered if a new fight for long-won women’s rights would follow. The wave of conservatism is pouring into our region, which was most evident in the case of Mirela Čavajda who was denied the right to an abortion in Croatia, but welcomed in Slovenia. Should women be afraid? How long will we fight the battles of our grandmothers?
