In recent years, we have witnessed a renaissance in the production of TV series in the region. Since 2018, Serbia has produced more TV series than the rest of the region combined over the previous nine years. With its epicentre in Belgrade, the explosion of domestic content continues to shake the region year after year. Does quantity equal quantity? Does regional content have global potential? Has it contributed to a new wave of production value and freshness of genre? These and other questions on the “explosion” of domestic TV series will be discussed with prominent players in the regional phenomenon.
