Some data is still stored in paper form, but we tend to digitise all the personal data we process. The processed data is stored in the Data Processor’s premises and IT systems, but sometimes we store the data on the servers of our trusted service providers.

We will share your data for the purpose of executing cooperation agreements with our partners who work on the promotion of the Weekend Media Festival:
In case you have an inquiry concerning the protection of personal data, especially when you send us a request in which you want to exercise one of your rights, we will share the request and/or other inquiry with our external data protection officer: Presido, Ulica Republike Austrije 23, 10000 Zagreb, dpo@presido.hr
In some cases, our partners providing services on behalf of or for PEPERMINT may process your data outside the European Union. However, the contracts we conclude with such entities oblige them to treat your data using special security measures in accordance with the regulations in force in the Member States of the European Union.
On 10 July 2023, the European Commission adopted a new adequacy decision under which personal data can be freely transferred from the European Union to companies in the US participating in the Data Privacy Framework.
The adequacy decision is based on Article 45 of the General Data Protection Regulation. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a mechanism that ensures the secure and lawful transfer of data to third countries. Companies in the U.S. that wish to participate in the Data Protection Framework must undergo a self-certification process and enrol in the list of companies that have accessed the Data Privacy Framework.
Also, if our contract partner is based in the US, we will review existing contracts and check the security standards that our partner guarantees to ensure the protection of all our data subjects with the latest standards approved and suggested by the relevant institutions.
The purposes for which we share data with our trusted partners are, for example, marketing needs, maintenance of the weekend.hr, hr.weekend.hr and ai.weekend.hr websites, advertising, payment processing, delivery, and other services in and outside PEPERMINT. These service providers are obliged, according to the relevant contracts, to use the data entrusted to them only in accordance with our guidelines and exclusively for the purpose we have strictly determined. Once a year, we audit all our partners to make sure that the protection of your personal data is still at the required level and that it complies with applicable regulations.
PEPERMINT will not retain your personal data for longer than the period required to fulfill the purpose of their use, and for a maximum period of 3 years, except in exceptional cases where the law prescribes a longer retention period (for example, data related to unilaterally terminated contracts and complaints will be kept for 1 year, data related to exercising of your privacy rights will be kept permanently, data related to prize contests will be kept for 5 years, data on lecturers for 5 years).
You can find out more about data retention periods by contacting our data protection officer.
We may use your personal information in several different ways, mainly to meet our legal and other obligations toward you, but sometimes to improve your experience of using the website, and for security reasons.
The purposes for which we use your data are described in these rules, and if your data is processed for other purposes, you will be notified before such (new) processing is carried out.

On the weekend.hr, hr.weekend.hr and ai.weekend.hr websites, the head of personal data processing has incorporated components of the Twitter service. Twitter is a multilingual, publicly available microblogging service where users can post and share so-called “tweets”, i.e., short messages that are limited to 280 characters. These short messages are available to everyone, including users who are not logged in to Twitter. Tweets are displayed to the so-called followers of the respective user. Followers are other Twitter users who follow the tweets of the respective user. Furthermore, Twitter allows you to reach a wide audience through hashtags, links, and tweets.
Twitter is owned by X Corp (which used to be Twitter, Inc.), 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.
Each time you access the weekend.hr, hr.weekend.hr and ai.weekend.hr websites managed by the Data Controller, which has a built-in Twitter component (Twitter button), the browser on the data subject’s computer system will automatically display an overview of the said Twitter component. During this technical procedure, Twitter will receive information about a specific subpage visited by the data subject. The purpose of the integration of the Twitter component is to transfer the content belonging to Pepermint d.o.o. to acquaint users with the content of the website and increase the number of visitors.
If the data subject is logged in to Twitter at the same time, Twitter will detect each visit to the website weekend.hr, hr.weekend.hr and ai.weekend.hr as well as which specific subpages the data subject visited during their stay on the website. The information is collected by the Twitter component and remitted to the data subject’s Twitter account. If the data subject clicks on one of the Twitter buttons on the website, Twitter will transfer this information to the data subject’s Twitter account and store such personal data.
Twitter receives information via the Twitter component provided that the data subject is logged in to Twitter during the review of the website. This will be the case regardless of whether the data subject clicked on the Twitter button or not. If this type of information transfer is not what the data subject wants, he or she can prevent it by logging out of the Twitter account before accessing the weekend.hr, hr.weekend.hr and ai.weekend.hr websites.
