At the 12 th edition of the largest communication festival in the region, which takes place from the 19 th until 22 nd of September in Rovinj, specially designed washable cups will be used for the first time to reduce the use and disposal of single-use plastic. On the cups, along with the festival logo, there will be an appropriate message that says that using this cup we are saving the planet. After use, visitors will be able to bring the cup home as an extra souvenir from the best Weekend of the year.
“Weekend always thinks green, which can also be seen in the visual identity and the decoration of the festival location. We don`t consider ecology to be just a trend, but a lifestyle. With festival without single-use plastic products, we want to raise awareness about ecology and take care of the environment as much as we can” said Tomo Ricov, Director of the Weekend Media Festival.
Visitors will be able to pick up washable cups at the bars within the festival complex in the Old tobacco factory in Rovinj. They will also be able to take them home, but also leave them at designated locations within the festival.
This year’s Weekend will bring over 150 speakers and panelists, and over the three days of the festival, over 5,000 participants from all countries in the region will be able to enjoy the rich festival program, which will take place in five parallel halls. A novelty this year is the Weekend Masterclass, which will host the legendary head of Tag Heuer and Hublot, Jean-Claude Biver at the Grand Park Hotel Rovinj, who will reveal the secrets of running luxury brands on Thursday, September 19 th at 11am, thus opening this year’s festival program.
