Belgrade’s McCann branch took home the title of Best Agency of 2019, and the best project in the entire region was Art Directed by Nature by Studio Sonda, which fascinated the regional jury after Cannes, and is three Lions richer this year
The awards for the best projects in the region were presented at this year’s BalCannes review held as part of the 12th Weekend Media Festival, which brought together five thousand media and marketing communications experts in Rovinj.
The projects were selected by as many as twenty experts ranging from the client, agency and media side, who gathered to jury in Sarajevo, and were hosted by BalCannes` longtime partner and friend, Media Marketing. This year, the contestants had the opportunity to find out how advertisers, agencies and journalists view the same projects, and each of these juries awarded the best projects of their choice.
The prestigious title for the best BalCannes agency went to McCann Belgrade. The Art Directed by Nature project by Studio Sonda was named BalCannes’ best project, and it also took home the title of the best project by a jury of agency representatives and the best foreign project title! The Imago Ogilvy Agency`s Boranka project was voted best by the client jury.
The media jury award went to the Minus 33% project by BPCS, which competed for the first time at BalCannes this year. Jana. Deep Above All is the best regional project and the award went to the Croatian branch of Saatchi & Saatchi.
It’s no secret that BalCannes brings together great projects from across the region that are often the result of extraordinary stories. That is why, this year, BalCannes decided to award being bold and giving creative freedom to agencies, and award another Lion for client courage! For everyone that wasn`t able to attend the festival, all projects from BalCannes will be published on the BalCannes Yellow Pages, an online database of advertising agencies that serves as a useful tool throughout the year for advertisers looking for new business partners. The region’s top 25 projects, listed below, will also be found in the new Creative Portfolio edition.
